Decorative Details and Arty Bits
Some of the details are complicated painting projects while others are practical or just plain Funny!

- Medievil motifs and a creeping Knight adorn this door leading to the Atelier. The paint is distressed to look old and the stone wall intrudes on the doorframe
- Diamonds in close-up – This photo is upside down!
- A simple diamond pattern for the atelier side on the door with the medieval design
- Dentils made from framing moulding bits cover the blue painted door to the master bedroom area.
- Hand-glazed tiles in the bathroom – got a bit carried away trying out patterns!
- Air, earth and water feature on the panels of the downstairs bathroom door
- The door covers access to pipes – note the hand made metal switch cover on the wall.
- The door for the fusebox etc. is made from floor planks
- Service Door opens wide to see what you’re doing
- The washing machine and sink are behind screen doors in line with cupbards in the Atelier
- Laundry with sink and washing machine and open screen door. The screen opens wide for easy access
- With the stone wall behind, the solid manger base – we think – is made into a comfy bench with a place for your book, or glass…
- The original slot window lights in the kitchen were closed with a stained glass collage. Rusty candle holders on the window-ledge.
- The support for the laundry tap needed prettyfying – we thought. Hand made shelf painted with leaves
- Just a funny wire thing that we use to hold the loo-paper
- The old sideboard was stripped and painted, then a new top was added
- Painting the trunk top to double as a Chess board. Photo shows the folding shutter doors.
- The terrace is a patchwork of tiles and stones. The plastic rattan garden chair legs are metal and painted in bright colours.
Original Artwork, crafts and decorations in the house were made by the owner and friends who have stayed at the house.
