Driving from Caen or Santander is another option if you like to take a ferry
From Caen it’s about 874 km, 8 hours 30 mins – without breaks. We usually allow about 12 hours via the A20.
Some of our guests take a couple of days with camping at one of the many very good French Camp sites.
There are several alternative routes from Santander. This is a longer cruise crossing but a shorter drive, roughly 590 km, 6 hours via the A64.
Again, some have made an adventure of this route, crossing the mountains through Jaca and camping on the way.
